Lightweight, Compression Sack

The Ruffwear Highlands Sleeping Bag™ is a packable, durable sleeping bag for warmth, comfort and insulation on the trail. The zippered opening allows the bag to open wide, then zip closed to retain dogs’ body heat.

Lightweight synthetic down insulation provides warmth and protection from hard, cold surfaces. Integrated pad sleeve accommodates the Ruffwear Highlands Dog Pad™ (sold separately) for additional insulation in extreme cold. Durable polyester fabric shell provides a comfortable sleeping surface and cleans with a shake.

This was a gift to Ivy, a beautiful and gentle pittie. She has no undercoat and always needs a blanket . She is also an avid camper with her mom, a celebrated trainer and wildlife rescue nurse. Ivy got right into her sleep sack and it seems, whether indoors or out, this is the place for her to snuggle. It made a good gift for a very good dog.

This was great! We love camping but our 65lb Malinois mix kept waking up shivering next to us. We tried blankets and towels with no success. This sleeping bag did the trick and worked extremely well (although she hasn’t quite got the hang of where to lie down in it - and it’s not something we work on). We got the large size for our dog and she can fully stretch out inside. As she gets older I’m now also eyeing the pad that inserts in the bottom of the bag to help keep her comfortable on our trips.

My dog is about 52 lbs and wears a size small harness and size medium jacket. The medium sleeping bag is roomier than expected. I tried it in October when it was around 5 C and my dog curled up in it. Planning on adding the Climate Changer fleece jacket for 0 C weather and probably the Powder Hound jacket for winter camping. I can sleep better knowing that my dog is cozy. This was a lot easier to zip up than a human sleeping bag for my dog and it is purposefully made. I used a Z-lite foam pad under the sleeping bag for extra warmth and comfort

Super lightweight and warm sleeping bag for my dog even under single digits at night (my dog has thin fur and no undercoat). It comes with its own stuff sack which I LOVE too! Perfect dog gear for adventure pups!

We purchased two sleeping bags, one for each of our border collies. They were perfect around the campsite during the day and both dogs curled up inside them in the tent at night! They're lightweight, easy to shake out and washed up beautifully after the trip. The stuffsack is the perfect size and really helps to sinch the size down. Highly recommend!

My dog loved it the moment it got in. I took a medium size and it fits perfectly for my 70 lbs female labrador. She always sleeps tight in that circle position, so she likes being cuddled in. However, it is cool that it can be open from side to side for when she starts moving and sleep all stretched up! I like that it is packable in its sack and compressible, all parts being attached so you dont lose any parts. It can also be fixed to the ground which can be practical for picnics or outdooring. I also bought the inserted mat that goes with it. On the weight (around 2 lbs), I think it is still a little heavy/chubby for the size and fabrics (same for the mat; Ruffwear, I challenge you! :p) but after exploring lots of options, dyi/altenative ways, it is still the best weight/price/functional/warm ratio I have found for camping and long hikes where weight/cold and humidity/rips can be issues. It can be easily attached on the dog's backpack but I can deal with the weight for her. Fabric is resistant (compared to a down sleeping bag I tell ya) and easy to wash. I like the fact that I carry the minimum required quatity of tissue/fabric needed for my dog's nights with the bag + mat. Would recommend this product. Practicle not only for camping but overnight stays at friends and family.

We haven't yet had a chance to use this product out camping, but we can already tell that it is of excellent quality and functionality. Our dog chooses to lie on it over her comfy dog bed when she sits by us in the kitchen. The colour is beautiful and the material seems durable. We are very happy with this purchase, and most importantly, our dog seems to like it too!

Love that the bag comes with a compression sack! Our 65lbs Pittie/Lab just fits into the Medium perfectly. The material seems durable (have only used it hiking once thus far), and our dog doesn't mind being in there. It seems to be warm enough for above zero temperatures, she was content around 5 degrees C.
