Approach Pack

  • Day or Overnight Bag

An all-around backpack for the canine community. The Ruffwear Approach Pack™ is ideal for day hikes or overnight adventures. Radial cut saddlebags create a passive compression system that is form fitting. Its harness frame allows for an even, balanced load to prevent the saddlebags from shifting during movement along varied terrain. Lightweight materials, streamlined design, padding and 5 points of adjustment ensure a custom and comfortable fit!

Pack and stash all canine equipment, i.e. food, water, bowls, boots, and coat, in the Ruffwear Approach Pack - and you're good to go!

TIPS: For best results, use the girth measurement. Start with only a few items and slowly add more as your pooch becomes accustomed to the load. Please ensure your dog carries no more than 25% of their body weight in their dog pack.

    Great for packing dog essentials!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

I use this pack to carry all my dogs essentials on almost every hike(long and short) we go on. If we are in difficult terrain it makes it easy to pick them up. My other dog Lucy even hiked the Appalachian Trail with it and it will hold up for as many miles as you need. We put over 2000 on it in 2014.

    Fantastic overnight backpacking pack

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

My dog wears the Approach pack on overnight backpacking trips, and it's perfect! He can carry all his gear: my homemade first aid bag, two liters of water, the small Knot a Leash, a 30' long leash for the campsite, his Quencher bowl, two kibble meals, an extra small camping towel, doggie bags, and a small square fleece blanket just big enough to curl up with at night. He doesn't mind it on, and gets an extra workout while looking handsome!

    High Quality, Durable

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

We wanted something that would last, fit well. and be easy to use. This is all of those things. Finntin will go off roading from the trail and even get stuck, forgetting how wide he is with his cargo, and the pack handles the wear well, doesn't look used at all. Super easy to attach a leash if need be, or pick him up without him sliding around. Pack stays in place and he does not seem to mind it at all. It will also last forever I think, which is exactly what we like to purchase, 1 thing that will last a long time. Looking to get our other Jack Russell this one, but may get a different one for Finn (he's the muscles of the two ;) ) and give this one to Ruby.

    Awesome!!

Would you recommend this product?.: Yes!

This pack is perfect! At first I was worried it would be too small but it was perfect! Great for packing water and food for our overnight hike/camping trips, and I use it to carry all of Winston's toys and collapsible food bowls when we take road trips!
