The formfitting, light and sleek Swamp Cooler Zip Vest uses shade-providing spandex over the back and Ruffwear’s Swamp Cooler™ tech in the chest panel for an evaporative cooling effect that disperses heat from the dog’s core. To activate the Swamp Cooler Zip Vest, soak in water, wring out, zip on your dog, and go!

We were a little sceptical that the evaporative cooling would work on our Brittany through his thick coat but it did seem to provide him a big help on a hot day walk where he had few chances to jump in the water. Our measure is that his tongue wasn’t hanging way out which would have been the case without the vest. The vest seems to do what it is supposed to do.!

The cooling vest fits very well and is easy to get on with the full length side zipper. It is also comfortable enough that Petey doesn't care he has it on. It also seems to work well at keeping him a little cooler. He enjoys visiting people and other dogs but isn't a fan of the heat outdoors.

Ce gilet refroidissant est très bien ajusté pour mon boxer x mastiff de 75 lbs. J'ai pris grandeur large. Mon chien l'adore et est tjrs heureux de le mettre, c'est tout juste s'il ne le zip pas lui-même. Dans les canicules, je mouille le gilet, l'essore et le met au frigo mais pas au congélateur. Ce qui permet de garder froid plus longtemps. J'adore et mon chien aussi.

Our dog has DCM, a heart condition. The heat is very hard on him. The cooling vest helps him stay cool enough to be outside to play on hot days (for short bursts). It’s been above 30 degrees Celsius the last few days and the vest really seems to work. I’m really glad I went with the large size as his measurements were on the high end of medium (he’s just over 80 pounds). The large fits snug and I’m sure I would’ve needed to return the medium.
