The Ruffwear Roamer™ Leash can be held in your hand or worn around your waist - and stretches as dogs roam. Perfect when out jogging with your dog!

This leash is perfect for running. The bungee is substantial and I don’t feel like I can lose control of the dog but I do appreciate the quick grab loop near the harness clip. He and I are much happier to have some give in the lead.

Great leash for hiking on rough terrain and jogging. We chose the longer style since we are often in less traveled areas where we don’t need to keep our dog super close. I would probably recommend the shorter option if city walking.

I bought a large size roamer bungee leash and it is my favorite now among all Ruffwear leashes :D I can put it around my shoulder or waist and its elastic band bounces enough to absorb any shock caused by my pup or by myself. She is a border collie in training and sometimes jump off to a goose or a rabbit around then without this leash I feel like my waist is going to cut in half or get burn my palm. It's very useful in hiking or running. It also has a very good quality fabric that doesn't get dirt easily and a strong clip is very easy to use. I definitely love this leash and plan to buy smaller one, too.

This is my second Roamer leash (as you can see from the picture) as just one did not cut it when running with two dogs. I really like the clip, in particular. It's not obvious without having it right in front of you to close and open, but the links reach a little over-center when it's closed. This means that no amount of pulling from your dog should pry it open (pulling would need to be from the sides, instead of straight on.) The bungee part cushions you and your dog a little when there is a squirrel-sighting, which my kidneys appreciate. Anyone who wants to run with this leash (or probably any other hands free leash) - use it with a harness or some other means of clipping it to your dog's back; not their collar. You'll constantly be stopping to fish it out from between their legs if it's connecting under their neck.

Now that spring is here Link and I are starting to run together and we wanted a bungee leash so we don't hurt each other. This leash works great and seems like it will be very long lasting. Excellent quality. I had to do some digging to decide on size. One would think the smaller leash for a smaller dog, but the measurement is based on using the handle not the waist loop. Around the waist means shorter leash, plus shorter dog. So I am very happy I went with the large size. Its perfect for my purpose. Order process was easy and delivery fast.

This leash is perfect for runs with my pup! It's so nice to be able to move my arms freely while he's attached to my waist. I got the shorter length, which is absolutely fine for us as I have a small waist and Ziggy usually stays close to me anyways. If it was longer, I would have way too much slack on the leash all the time. I think this will also be great for Summer backpacking trips when we need to hook him on the leash. Really pleased with the quality and design!

I picked up this leash to give our snow-loving dog a bit more freedom to bounce around in the winter. We already have a shorter flat-out leash and love the talon clip. It feels secure and easy to use with gloves on. The webbing on this bungee leash feels a bit nicer than our older flat-out leash. Only thing I would add is an extra traffic handle just above the bungee part. Great leash - worth the extra bucks for something used so frequently.

Love that I can wear around my waist but it's still long enough to provide the pup room to explore and the stretch is great for when she wants to pull. Got the leash for outdoor activities. It worked very well for hiking and all other activities - love the stretch part that gives you some flex. when the terrain is a bit more challenging. Also great that you can clip it around your hip or like in the pic to the canoe (just in case….. was her first canoe trip, but she handled it like a pro)

We bought this leash in both large and medium. We have a 90 pound golden retriever and we wanted to take her on out staycation to Gros Morne National park. To be hands free while hiking allowed me to be able to avail of my hiking poles. Burton loved the length of the leash and the ability to sniff and smell all the scents on out hikes. For anyone that hikes with their dog, this leash is a must have. I have both the 6' and 11' and they are both amazing and near indestructible. The stretch is just enough to give your dog wandering room without any sudden jerking actions. I love the clip and I never worry that it will become detached but it is less than a second to detach when you need to. Great for city walks too. I was using a retractable leash and found I didn’t have time to react if my dog decided to lunge (squirrel!) Also she’s very strong and I didn’t trust the flimsy line … by my own reaction I would grab the line with my free hand & got leash burn a few times. So I recently got the large leash in red. It looks great, it has a handle if needed for a quick grab for more control, it has a section of elastic to allow her to go that little bit farther & also to stop the leash from jerking … it’s tough & can handle my 105lbs dog, has a solid clip to clip on to her harness not flimsy at all … just the right length & no more rope burn! The handle is padded :)

This is my second ruffwear bungee leash and I love them. I'll never go back to a leash that is not hands free, it's a game changer. The bungee is great, especially for hiking, helps a lot for stability. I wish I had gotten the longer version - I did not consider the length of my hips reducing the length of the leash. My dog can only stand two feet ahead of me with the short version of this product; which is good for jogging but I'd like to be a little further away when he is doing his business. As always, ruffwear is amazing and durable and my go to choice.

Love this leash! We have a Shepard/Bernese who walks like an angel 99% of the time, but sometimes forgets her size and lunges at squirrels. The bungee saves our arms, and her from giving herself whiplash. The handle padding is really nice and its awesome that you can expand it to wear hands-free or clip to a fence pole if you are in an unfenced area but want to take a break.

Nice simple design, good tension in the bungee even for my German Shepherd. I'd prefer a normal clip on the collar end, rather than the scissor type as her collar has a thick ring on it making attaching a bit finicky. Overall I'm happy with it.

I love this leash. It's very versatile and a quick switch from hand to around your waist without the bulky part that most leashes offers. It's very comfy to wear as the bungy option provides time for you to grab the leash if your dog were to pull spontaneously. If I had to purchase again I might have ordered the longer one, but this one is very practical, especially when hiking in narrow trails as it helps provide better control. The handle (as seen in pic) is also very helpful when in public. (Yes, his favorite place is Canadian Tire).

Getting a waist leash was a game changer! This is the second bungee leash I have gotten from Ruffware. The first lasted over 10 yrs. I really like the fact that I can put it around my waist while hiking and free up my hands and the give in the bungee is helpful when going over rough terrain with your dog. The clasp to attach to the harness is robust and easier to use when wearing gloves in the winter. It is a very versatile leash

Look ma, no hands! This is now the go to leash for walks and hikes with my pup. The short length while the elastic is compressed is perfect once fully stretched out. Wonderful leash, allows the dog much freedom of motion because of its elastic nature but also allows me control through the fixed non static loop at the base of the leash. Do not let your dog chew the leash! It is soft and durable fabric but those sharp teeth cut it quickly!

I was amazed at how quickly your product arrived. Totally impressive. Love the leash. It is just what I wanted for cross country skiing with my lab. The clip is also great as trying to clip and unclip a dog when it is -10 to -15C is difficult with gloves and or mittens. Great leash, we owned the previous version and used with our Catahoula and it made walks much more comfortable! We now use this updated version with our coonhound pup. The handle near the clasp end of the lease makes controlling an anxious or overly friendly dog much more achievable!

This leash is so great! We started using this leash because little Milo was really tugging on the leash. We found that the gentle pressure of the "bungee" in the leash helped to keep her from pulling too much and made walking her a lot easier. The "clip" on the handle also makes it really easy to secure the leash to a backpack or other item.

My husband and I each had a waist belt leash and loved them, but they were regular leash material and my squirrel chasing, reactive dog, Chilli, would almost pull us over at times - and it must have been quite the jerk on his body. Now that we each have the Ruff Wear Roamer waist belt leashes, Chilli can go for a squirrel and bounce back without injury to him or us. And, he can stretch a bit to sniff something without us having to follow him. It has the right amount of 'bungee pull' for Chilli, who is a 25-lb dog. We also use Ruff Wear harnesses and they work very well together. Quality, well-made products!
