Definitely takes some getting used to, but it's perfect for any kind of walk. Dont need to change leashes between activities and I love the locking mechanism, it's very sturdy!

Works for me, its my second one. I have a 120lb girl, she is stubborn and this locks her close to me,,after a couple years it wasn't secure anymore so i bought another one. Its the best for me..i have tried other and this is the best!

Love this lead! It has been great using while walking on trails, I can give my dog Doug lots of room to roam and still have some control. I am a little bigger around the waist so I love that this leash provides lots of room. Great product and would recommend!

Love the leash - great for long leash play in the parks, on trails, and at camp. Use this for our everyday city walks too - hand free is great! Only complaint is that it can be annoying to switch from long leash back to short as you have to manually push the rope back into the pouch.

This hiker's leash is easy to put on around the waist and really great in helping keep hands free. The length of the leash is also very helpful in allowing dogs to explore a little more freely. The only disadvantage with the leash is that it is not retractable. This makes it cumbersome because one hand has to keep hold of the leash when the dogs are off leash. This takes away the hands free advantage of the hikers leash waist pouch.

I attached the end to a multi-leash for my two dogs. I was most worried that the locking mechanism wouldn’t hold for two dogs but it’s been pretty sturdy so far. When locked, the line doesn’t come loose even with two 50lbs dogs pulling. Easy to reel in because it’s not excessively long. The belt also feels comfortable around the waist. The clasp on the belt feels sturdy too. It’s doesn’t feel like it would easily break or snap open from pulling. The belt also doesn’t cut in. We’ve been using the hitchhiker leash for a month now. So far we’ve used it for regular walks or for wandering on fields. We haven’t tried hiking with it yet but I’m guessing it will be easier than our previous setup before, where I switch out their regular leash for two separate long lines. Now I can go from long or short pretty easily.

I think this is great! I wish it was a little bit longer for playing fetch(still training) but that’s more training tool this works great well for being hands-free on a walk or hike!
