The Ruffwear Powder Hound Waterproof Insulated Jacket is engineered to keep dogs warm and dry in wet, cold, and windy conditions. The waterproof, windproof shell keeps harsh winter weather out, while the high-loft insulation in the back and belly panels retains core heat. The jacket silhouette provides great body coverage featuring a full-length zipper, and articulated StormSleeves™ that provides freedom of movement while sealing in the warmth and keeping snow out. This jacket includes chest and back leash portals for use over most harnesses, reflective accents for visibility, and a light loop for attaching The Beacon™ Safety Light for added visibility in low-light conditions.

The Powder Hound series also comes as a Vest, and a Coverall!

It's a great light jacket that keeps Onyx's chest warm - his deep poodle chest. City dogs can be well dressed too! If he is going to be out in the cold for a long period, or not moving very much, I add another jacket on top. Although he measured for the medium, the chest was much too small for him and I had to get the large. There is a huge difference between the two, and I had to take the large in a little bit (I sew) so it now fits him perfectly. I love See Sawyer Run! Very efficient. My boxer is a geriatric citizen and the coat fits a wee bit snug due to her weight. Otherwise this is an excellent choice and she wears it well. It is easy to put on and the zipper is easy to use and extremely good. I would highly recommend this coat for any dog of similar size.

My 43” toller is right on the edge between S and M. Went with the M for a better length fit and it works well. Seems really comfy and the stretchy fabric allows good freedom of movement. Love the colours!

Keeps Mara warm down to-10 C. We add a wool sweater underneath when it’s colder. Love the fit (90lb Ridgeback wears size Large). The bright colours work well when out and about but more muted options would be nice for cold days in the City.

So satisfied with this jacket! i’ve hesitated for a while before buying this jacket because of the price, and tried some cheaper ones that i found here and there but I was never quite satisfied with them. Pablo (my dog) is very active and loves to be in deep snow so I needed something that would let him move freely but tight enough that would keep the snow out of the jacket. This jacket does absolutely everything I was looking for and looks amazing on him ;) 100% would recommend ! Pablo is a Lab mix, weighs 60pounds and has quite large shoulders/chest and a Medium fits perfectly.

Excellent jacket for warmth. She is a pittie/lab (65lbs) and the Medium fits her very large chest but isn’t baggy on her tummy. She happily wears it for hours, holds up great in the snow/cold. Would love to see this made waterproof rather than water repellent, as it does soak through eventually with rain or slush.

This powder hound jacket is by far the best Canadian winter jacket for our dogs! The stretch fabric on the bottom and arm sleeves are great and the jacket appears to be warm. Easy wash and appreciate the reflective stripes as well. My dogs have no issues putting these jackets on and wearing them.

The Ruffwear Powder Hound is the best insulated dog jacket on the market. We bought our first Powder Hound for our Labradoodle when we moved from Vancouver, BC to Ottawa, ON during the winter. We liked that it had sleeves and ample coverage on the chest and belly in order to keep our girl warm. When we added a Rhodesian Ridgeback to our pack in the autumn, we ordered him a Powder Hound as well, and he loves it! The top of the jacket is polyester-filled and weather-resistant, while the bottom of it is a stretchy technical fleece that does not interfere with movement. It washes nicely and layers well with the Ruffwear Climate Changer technical fleece, when extra warmth is necessary. The Powder Hound is a warm, functional, good looking jacket that garners a lot of attention on the trails, in the dog park and on the street. If you're looking for an insulated jacket built for cold Canadian winters, this is it!

LOOOOOOVE this COAT!!! Ive purchase and tested SO many coats for my Brittanys. And none have worked out until this beauty. My girls are 38-42 lbs the size small fits best. It’s “fitted” but I like it that way so I can fit their harnesses over top. Their arms move well, no chafing, and my the dogs are warm! No more snow balls on their feathering, bare tummies are protected from snow and/ or brush, and arm pits are tangle free…. I could go on and on about this well designed coat. My free spirited Australian Terrier is hard to fit, with his deep chest, short legs and long body, everything is too bulky. The Powder Hound coat fits him perfectly, nice and slim but with plenty of room to move freely. The Powder Hound fit and quality is so good, I ordered a second colour ( you can never have too many coats).

Well, I'm writing this review in August in Canada so I can't speak to the practical warmth of the jacket. However, I will say that the fit and finish is excellent, as expected from Ruffwear. Fits my one-year-old lab quite well. In particular I find the length over the back provides great coverage. The front leg design is streamlined, no loose material sagging etc. The zip on the upper side is a great idea as it gives full coverage under the belly where snow, water, mud etc accumulate. I've never been disappointed in a piece of Ruffwear gear and being able to purchase in Canada online from See Sawyer Run is a bonus. If you adventure with your dog all winter this is a great piece of canine kit!

Love this jacket! Super easy to put on and take off. Aiko is 60 lbs and the medium fit him perfectly, great colour too! It keeps him warm enough on the super cold days so he can get a decent amount of exercise without freezing, but we still wouldn't be able to stay out all day. If he was a few years younger we probably would though! Overall, very happy with this jacket, it's my favourite one I've bought so far!

We needed a coat for our 3-legged dog Sammy. Specifically, we needed something that covered his whole body as most coats rely on two front legs to hold the coat in place. I love the fit of this coat. It goes up to his junk which keeps his belly clean and protected. It lays smoothly on his back, ending right at his tail. The zipper has a protective piece of fabric at the top to keep fur from getting caught in it. Zips open and closed very smoothly. Leg hole could fit a dog’s leg that is more muscular than my dog’s. I really love this for an added layer of protection from wind and snow for my short haired tropical dog. He can still move well in it. The only thing I would wish for would be a way to adjust the neck opening to make it a bit smaller - but I think a snood/neck warmer would do the trick. Love the quality of Ruffwear. Love the reflective bits in the jacket. Love the look of it. Easy to clean. And most of all: our dog is happy to wear it!

I have an Australian Terrier, they are small, deep chested and long. I followed the fit guide hoping that the Powder Hound coat would fit. As you can see, it’s perfect, long enough to cover his back, plenty of room for his front legs, not bulky, and perfectly stylish. The coat is well made, has reflective piping, and withstands the busy life of a terrier. My next purchase will be the Float Vest for kayak adventures.
