Non-Stop Dogwear, First Thoughts!

August 13, 2024

On Wednesday, August 7th I went to Limberlost Forest and took Zeus and Adelaide on the Clear Lake/Turtle Lake Trail. I wore Adelaide in my Ergobaby soft carrier and had the Non-Stop Dogwear Trail Light Belt on. I wasn’t sure if they’d work together but they did no problem! This was great because it allowed me to have Zeus leashed but hands free. I used the 2.0m Bungee Leash and Zeus wore the Line harness 5.0 which looks awesome and fits great!

My first impression was of pure excitement because I was so stoked to use this setup! I had really high expectations of Non-Stop Dogwear’s gear and was blown away!

The Trail Light Belt was so comfortable it was as if I wasn’t even on and when Zeus was pulling, it distributed the pressure so well. The storage space is phenomenal, the layout is so well thought out! From the water bottle pockets that tuck in when not in use to the perfect phone-sized elastic pouch in the big zippered pocket, there is no bounce to worry about when running! There’s even a built in whistle! The leg straps help stabilize the belt and aren’t intrusive at all. The carabiner is light but sturdy and very easy to use. It was a hot day and I didn’t find wearing the belt to be too hot.

Next up is the Bungee Leash, I thought 2m would be too long but it’s the perfect length for hiking and canicross (or even just going for a walk around the block). It didn’t get in my way at all, which was especially important while baby-wearing because you can’t really see that well right in front of you! The bungee aspect is amazing, much better than any bungee leash I’ve ever used (including the Roamer leash 😬)! The self locking twist carabiner worked like a charm, very easy yet secure.

Finally, let’s talk about the Line Harness 5.0! I have never found a half-harness (think single clip behind the front legs) that I’ve liked the fit on Zeus…. Until now! This harness fits so well and gives his shoulders free range of motion, which is so important especially for any amount of pulling. As a Registered Veterinary Technician I know the importance of having properly fitted gear to avoid injury and I feel comfortable having Zeus do some light pulling with this setup!! As a bonus, this harness comes in several amazing colours and the orange glows against the black fur on his back!

Needless to say this setup was amazing and I can’t wait to use it more and to try out more Non-Stop gear!
