This is an excellent, sturdy and well designed leash. The clips are substantial and I really like being able to tether my pup to my waist whether on a walk or in the kitchen.

I got this leash to use hands free for morning walks to aid my coffee addiction. The leash is short enough that it won’t get caught on my dogs legs, but that’s also why I feel it’s a bit short. The extra handle works well, but if my dog is at the end of the leash when I have him on my waist, I can’t reach it without first pulling it with my other hand. As a regular 6 foot leash I’d say it’s great. Just not ideal for hands free.

This is our second Ruffwear Flat Out leash, amd I can’t say enough about them. The length, the handle at the bottom, and being able to clip it around your waist makes it much easier to control our 100lb Bernese Mountain Dog. I also use it for running, snowshoeing, etc. - it’s so nice not to have to hold a leash when doing physical activity. Also, the clip on the bottom is a pinch clip which makes it easier to get on and off, and the clip at the top end and adjustable strap means you can easily wrap it around trees, picnic table legs, posts - whatever you need to in order to keep your pup secure when you need him to. Delivery was super fast…would definitely order from See Sawyer Run again!

Great leash! A bit thinner than I was expecting, but I don’t think it compromises the strength at all. It’s also a little short when used around the waist (or maybe it’s me.. lol), but will be perfect for running or if a dog is in heel. We are working on that.

Our rescue requires all fosters and adopters to use hands-free leashes (among other equipment) as a part of our safety protocol. We were recommended the flat our leash by SSR's owner Marissa, and we love it! The leash is strong and sturdy, with a secure and heavy duty clip (equally as important). The waist is easily adjusted in size and easy to put on/off. The traffic lead is a big bonus feature as well. We admittedly are very picky with our equipment, and it has become one of a handful to get our seal of approval. The only downside is that the clip could be too heavy for smaller breeds, but if clipped to the harness, it should be no issue for dogs 18lb and over. (the leash is pictured with the dog in the blue harness). As usual, SSR promptly processed and shipped our order, which helps us ensure all equipment is ready for our dogs' arrival.

Gorgeous, and latch is lightweight, solid, and incredibly easy to use for arthritic hands. The handle is very comfortable with the neoprene padding. For hands free option: since my dog Maisie is short, instead of increasing the size of the handle to go around my waist, I buckle it to the waist strap of the treat fanny pack. I love the flexibility!
